Top Therapy Areas Overview
- In
the top categories worldwide, growth in Cardiovascular
and Anti-Infectives products moved up a percentage
point to 10% and 6% to $43 billion and $21 billion respectively.
- By
therapeutic category across Europe, the biggest incremental
rise of 1% was reported for Cardiovascular products,
growing 8% to $12.3 billion. Within this group significant
increases were seen in the Hypolipidaemics/Anti-atheroma
and Renin-Angiotensin Agents sub-groups up by 20%
and 12% respectively.
- Driving
growth in the Japanese market were good sales for CNS
(up 11% to $3.1 billion), Respiratory (up 9% to $3.5
billion) and Cardiovascular (up 7% to $9.9 billion)
products.
