Abraxane
American Pharmaceutical Partners marketed, USA (breast cancer)

On 8 February 2005 American Pharmaceutical Partners launched its cremophor-free, albumin-based nanoparticle formulation of paclitaxel (ABRAXANE) in the USA. ABRAXANE injectable suspension is indicated for breast cancer therapy after failure of combination chemotherapy for metastatic disease or relapse within six months of adjuvant chemotherapy.

The product is also undergoing phase II evaluation in the USA for the treatment of head and neck cancer and phase I studies for a range of solid tumors.
