Gilead Sciences, Roche registered, Europe

The EMEA has granted oseltamivir (TAMIFLU), Roche and Gilead Sciences’ oral influenza therapy, marketing authorization in the European Union for the treatment of influenza in adults and children and the prevention of influenza in adolescents and adults. The treatment will be available for the 2002/2003 influenza season. The agent has been launched in several markets worldwide including the USA and Japan.
